Welcome to another Top Ten Tuesday. Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly bookish meme hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl since 2018. This week's topic was a little difficult for me since I don't do a lot of themed reading, and I wasn't able to read any Halloween-specific books last month. So I thought I'd talk about some books I'm planning to read in the next few days and in November. Some of them do have the Halloween feel, in my opinion at least.
This week's Topic: Halloween Freebie
1. A Tempest of Tea by Hafsah Faizal
I picked A Tempest of Tea because it had vampires in it, which is not how I usually choose books. I'm planning to post my review this Saturday as a kind of Halloween book review. I've accidentally been on a Hafsah Faizal binge this month, and I've enjoyed it quite a bit.
2. The Day I Died by C.M. Francis
3. Truly Devious by Maureen Johnson
I know what you're thinking. 'Are you late to every party?' Yes, I am. I've heard of this book for a few years now but was never able to make time to read it. I bought Truly Devious a few months ago (or well my sister did) and I thought it was finally time to find out what the hype was about.
4. Emily Wilde's Encyclopedia Of Faeries by Heather Fawcett
I've been wanting to read Emily Wilde's Encyclopedia of Faeries for so long now. I've heard so many great things from others, so I'm eager to share my thoughts and opinions.
5. Powerless by Lauren Roberts
6. Pawsitively Poisonous by Melissa Erin Jackson
I love cozy mysteries, witches, and cats, so Pawsitively Poisonous drew my attention immediately. I think it covers the Halloween vibe very well and I can't wait to get to it.
7. Howl's Moving Castle by Diana Wynne Jones
I've loved and re-watched the Ghibli movie so much without knowing there was a book. I can't wait to see how I'll feel about Howl's Moving Castle compared to the movie.
8. Caraval by Stephanie Garber
9. Moving is Murder by Nellie H. Steel
Another cozy mystery. I've been wanting to read more of these for a while now, and Moving is Murder sounds like a lot of fun.
10. The Hobbit by J.R.R. Tolkien
If you haven't read my review of The Hawthorne Legacy by Jennifer Lynn Barnes yet, then you can do so here.
Thank you for reading, If you liked my post, follow my blog for more :)

I would say I don't do themed reading but my blog is full of Christmas books because I love them so much. Halloween I skip, I don't care for scary or the holiday. Moving is Murder looks like a good one. I like the cozy mystery. I have tried multiple times to read The Hobbit but it's not for me.
ReplyDeleteI love a good cozy mystery and it is the perfect time of year for one! A Tempest of Tea is sitting on my nightstand right now - I hope to read it soon.
ReplyDeleteI loved Emily Wilde. I hope you do too.
ReplyDeleteThe Day I Diednisnt my usual thing either, but it sounds really interesting!
ReplyDeleteI finally read Truly Devious (a year or so ago) after everyone had devoured it and still enjoyed! Anytime I see it on someone's list I'm remined that I should read book two. :) Hope you enjoy, and thanks for visiting my blog list today!
ReplyDeleteI've had Caraval on my tbr list for awhile now, too.

There are a few on here I think work super well for the Halloween season too! The only ones I've read are Howl's Moving Castle (which I love both the book & movie) & The Hobbit! :)

I love the whole Truly Devious series. It's great! I hope you love it too.
ReplyDeleteHappy TTT!
I haven't read any of these. They look good. Enjoy!
ReplyDeleteI hope you love Powerless. Howls moving castle is so charming, book and movie are different, both versions are magical in their own way,
ReplyDeleteGreat list! i was thrilled to see Emily Wilde's Encyclopaedia of Faeries on here, it's such a wonderful book and it will give you winter vibes when you read it! I still have Truly Devious on my TBR too, so I'm just as late to the party as you are!
ReplyDeleteA great looking list. I enjoyed The Encyclopedia of Faeries and The Hobbit.
ReplyDeleteHave a great week!
I need to get to Emily Wilde. I've heard such tremendous things about it.
ReplyDeleteThe Hobbit is one of my all time favourites, and yet I have never managed to read The Lord of the Rings. And loved Howl's Moving Castle.
ReplyDeleteSome of these give off great Halloween vibes. Have a great week!
ReplyDeleteGreat list, Marwah! I love The Hobbit. I hope you have a happy Halloween!
ReplyDeleteThe Hobbit as a book will be an altogether different experience than the bloated movies, I think! Hope you enjoy.
ReplyDeleteI just recently read Emily Wilde and it was a favorite. I hope you love it!
ReplyDeleteFun list of books! I've read #s 3, 4, 7 and 10 and enjoyed them all. And thanks for commenting on my blog earlier. :D
ReplyDeleteI really loved the Emily Wilde book! Can't wait for the 3rd book, coming in 2025. The Hobbit is terrific -- my book group is planning to do a reread next year. :) I hope you enjoy Howl's Moving Castle. I listened to the audiobook a few years ago, which I think was a mistake. The narrator irritated me so much that I just couldn't appreciate the story.
ReplyDeleteThe Hobbit is one of my favorite books. I like the cover of A Tempest of Tea. Happy reading!
ReplyDeleteI hope you enjoy all these books when you read them. I agree that several of them do have a kind of spooky, Halloween feel to them. I hope you have a great weekend and thanks for stopping by my blog earlier this week. - Katie
ReplyDeleteThe Day I Died is new to me, but looks interesting! I've still got to read Caraval! Great list!
ReplyDeleteEmily Wilde is amazing! I hope you enjoy it too.
ReplyDeleteThe Emily Wilde series is a lot of fun, hope you enjoy!
ReplyDeleteHowl's Moving Castle is very different to the movie -- I love them both, but they don't have a lot in common in some ways. My favourite discovery with the book was definitely the fact that a couple of the characters are Welsh, and there's a fair bit of Welsh influence on the story.
Great list! Emily Wilde is incredible and I really enjoyed Caraval and Truly Devious 😍 I'm keen to check out the book for Howl's cos I love the movie so much. I wonder how they differ! I hope you enjoy these whenever you get to them :) Thanks for visiting my blog!
ReplyDeleteLol at "are you late to every party?" I am too, so no judgement from me! Love your list!

I love Emily Wilde, Howl's Moving Castle, and The Hobbit! I hope you enjoy these :)
ReplyDeleteVery fun list! I hope you enjoy all these books. I read Howl's Moving Castle before knowing there was a movie, and I enjoyed them both. They are different in many ways, but both are lovely stories.
ReplyDeleteThanks for visiting my TTT earlier!
This is such a great list! I loved so many of these!! Truly Devious is such a great series.
ReplyDeleteOh I hope you love Howl's Moving Castle. It is different from the movie. What worked for the book didn't nessecarily work for the movie though and it is one of the few times i've supported changes to the original story. I also loved Emily Wilde!
ReplyDeleteWelcome to The Booklore Fairy! I'd love to hear from you.
