Top Ten Tuesday - Books On My Winter 2024-2025 To-Read List

Top-Ten-Tuesday

Welcome back to another Top Ten Tuesday. Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly bookish meme hosted by that artsy reader girl since 2018. It was born of a love of lists and bringing book lovers together. This week's topic is books on my winter to-read list. I'm not the fastest reader, so if you have visited a TTT on my blog before, you'll recognize some of these books. I've also been requested to read a few books by authors, so I hope I'll get to these eventually.

This Week's Topic: Books On My Winter 2024-2025 To-Read List

1. The Night At Time Square by C.M Francis

I was sent The Night At Times Square to review by the author after I reviewed her book "The Day I Died". I loved her first book so I'm really excited to start reading this one after I finish the ARC I'm reading now.

2. Werecats Emergent by Mark J. Engels

Another book I was sent by an author to review. Werecats Emergent is an urban fantasy, and I can't wait to read it. It seems right up my alley.

3. Dance Of Thieves by Mary E. Pearson

Dance of Thieves has been on my TBR for a while now, and I finally bought it a month or so ago. I've heard so many great things. Hopefully, I'll get to it soon.

4. Emily Wilde's Encyclopedia Of Faeries by Heather Fawcett

I can't wait to start reading Emily Wilde's Encyclopedia Of Faeries. My sister read it a few weeks ago and was obsessed, and knowing my love for cozy fantasy I know I'll love it too.

5. The Thursday Murder Club by Richard Osman

I bought The Thursday Murder Club at the same time as Dance Of Thieves. I've never read a mystery with elderly characters so I'm really excited!

6. Truly Devious by Maureen Johnson

Truly Devious was on my November TBR, but that was an awful reading month for me so I never got to it. Hopefully I'll be able to get to it soon.

7. Caraval by Stephanie Garber

This is the book cover for Caraval by Stephanie Garber

I've been wanting to read Caraval for a long time. Sadly, I haven't managed to start it yet. Hopefully, I'll be able to get to it in the next two months.

8. Howl's Moving Castle by Diana Wynne Jones

I love the Howl's Moving Castle Ghibli movie a lot, and It's my favorite Ghibli movie. I can't wait to read the book and see which I like better.

If you haven't read my review of The Final Gambit by Jennifer Lynn Barnes yet, then you can do so here.

Thanks for visiting my blog.

  6. I love Emily Wilde, Thursday Murder Club, and Truly Devious! I remember enjoying Caraval a lot when I read it years ago but I hope to re-read it at some point so I can finally finish this series and continue with the spinoff. Howl's is top tier Ghibli and I recently read the book and thankfully enjoyed it despite how different it is to the movie. I hope you enjoy all of these whenever you get to them :)

  17. I love books with older/mature characters (being in my late 60s) so highly recommend The Thursday Murder Club. I also have had Caraval on my TBR shelf for a long time, but not sure when I will get to it. I hope you enjoy all of these books, Marwa.

  18. I enjoyed Truly Devious -- but that reminds me that I never continued the series. Happy reading!

  19. My Libby has The Thursday Murder Club. I keep seeing it everywhere. I added it to my want-to-read list. And I added a 2nd hand paperback in German to the list for my mum…

  21. I love the Emily Wilde books -- hope you do too!

  22. So many interesting covers! I hope you enjoy them all!

  23. The Night At Times Square looks interesting -- I don't find a lot of new YA novels that catch my eye, so this is exciting!

And this is actually a great time to start Emily Wilde, because now you'll have the option to read it pretty much uninterrupted, if you like it.
Thanks for stopping by my list earlier.

  24. Mary E. Pearson's books seem like popular picks on book lists, but I've never read any! Maybe someday. I did read and enjoy Truly Devious a couple years ago, and anytime I see it, I'm reminded I should read the next books, too! :) Thanks for visiting my list on this week! Apologies it took this long to visit yours.

  25. This is such a great list! Howl's Moving Castle is one of my favorite books of all time!! I enjoyed Dance of Thieves, although I've never read the sequel, and I loved Emily Wilde's Encyclopaedia of Faeries and Truly Devious (those are both great to read during the winter!).

  26. Great list! I hope you enjoy them when you get to read them. Merry Christmas!

  27. I hope The Thursday Murder Club works for you. I so wanted to love it, because I really enjoy the author as a host of House of Games (see here: https://www.youtube.com/@MundoUK). But alas I had to DNF it. I'm still optimistic for his new series

  28. Emily Wilde, Caraval, and Truly Devious were all great. I also really liked Howl's Moving Castle but I think I actually preferred the Studio Ghibli movie. Then again I did see the movie first and had no idea it was based on a book until way later. Enjoy them all!

  29. I haven't read any of these but I recognize several! I hope you enjoy them when you get to them.
