Top-Ten-Tuesday

Welcome back to another Top Ten Tuesday. Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly bookish meme hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl since 2018. It was born out of a love of lists and aims to bring book lovers together. This week's topic is a freebie, so I've listed list ten books with black covers since I noticed that many book covers could fit into that list. I haven't been able to post a lot of content, though I'm trying to get back on track, but Top Ten Tuesday is something I wouldn't want to miss. Some of the books on this list I have read, while others are part of my never-ending TBR. If you need a book with a black cover for a reading challenge, this is the list for you.

This week's topic: Freebie - Books with Black Covers

1. The Night Circus by Erin Morgenstern

This is the book cover for The Night Circus

I loved The Night Circus when I read it a few years ago. With a deadly magical competition, slow-burn romance, and an immersive atmosphere, I couldn't put it down.

2. Powerless by Lauren Roberts

This is the book cover for Powerless by Lauren Roberts

I'm currently reading Powerless, and though I'm only a hundred pages in, I'm enjoying the story a lot. Let's see if my thoughts change after I finish reading it.

3. The Pickwick Papers by Charles Dickens

This is the book cover of The Pickwick Papers by Charles Dickens

I read The Pickwick Papers a few years ago, and I was surprised that I liked it. I did have to look up a lot of archaic words but it was a wonderful experience following the enigmatic Pickwick and his three friends.

4. A Tempest of Tea by Hafsah Faizal

This is the book cover for A Tempest Of Tea by Hafsah Faizal

I read this book last month, and though it wasn't my favorite, I liked it (You can read my review of A Tempest of Tea here if you wish). When I was thinking of books with black covers, A Tempest of Tea was one of the first that popped into my head.

5. Dance of Thieves by Mary E. Pearson

This is the book cover for Dance of Thieves by Mary E.Pearson

Dance of thieves is sitting on my bookshelf right now, and I hope to get to it soon.

6. Emily Wilde's Encyclopedia of Faeries by Heather Fawcett

This is the book cover for Emily Wilde's Encyclopedia of Faeries

Another book that's on my TBR list. I've heard so many great things from so many people that I can't wait to read Emily Wilde's Encyclopedia Of Faeries.

7. The 7 1/2 Deaths of Evelyn Hardcastle by Stuart Turton

This is the book cover for The 7 1/2 Deaths Of Evelyn Hardcastle

I found the plot of the 7 1/2 Deaths Of Evelyn Hardcastle so unique and interesting, but I haven't managed to find time to read the book yet.

8. The Invisible Life of Addie Larue by V.E. Schwab

This is the book cover for The Invisible Life Of Addie Larue by V.E. Schwab

The Invisible Life Of Addie Larue is still on my TBR, as it has been for years. Hopefully, I'll be able to get to it soon.

9. The Hobbit by J.R.R. Tolkien

This is the book cover of The Hobbit by J.R.R Tolkien

Once again, The Hobbit is still on my TBR (I wasn't able to read much last month). I'm hoping to get to it soon. It's one of the most celebrated fantasy books ever, so I need to find out what the hype is about.

10. The Lies of Locke Lamora by Scott Lynch

This is the book cover for The Lies of Lock Lamora by Scott Lynch

I'll end this list with a book I have read. The Lies Of Locke Lamora was a little off-putting when I first read it. It was more violent and profane than I was used to reading. However, I reread it recently and loved it! Sadly the second book didn't leave the same impression on me.

Thanks for reading! Also, it's been two months since I first started my blog, so rather than talk about a new review, I thought I'd give a little spotlight to my first review.

If you haven't read my review of A Far Wilder Magic by Allison Saft, you can do so here.

  7. As a design element, I always think a black/dark cover with gold elements or lettering is pretty so some of these are stunners. I remember seeing The Night Circus EVERYWHERE back when it was released but I never read it. :) Thanks for visiting my list today!

  10. This is a great list! I especially loved the Emily Wilde series, and The Night Circus came to mind for me as well, even though I didn't love it, that gorgeous cover was great to start the list with. The cover of your version of The Lies of Locke Lamora is so much prettier than the one I read, and I really loved that story.

  22. Great choice of topic! I feel like TTT is always a great grounding post and even if I don't end up posting anything else on my busier weeks, I always feel like posting a TTT makes me feel like I've got my stuff together 🤣 Quite a few of these are still on my TBR but I read Addie earlier this year and it quickly became a new favourite. Omg, the tears I cried! It was so good! I hope you enjoy all the ones still on your TBR. Happy reading!
