Welcome back to another Top Ten Tuesday. Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly bookish meme hosted by that artsy reader girl since 2018. It was born out of a love of lists and aims to bring bookworms together. This week's topic new-to-me authors I discovered in 2024. I wasn't able to post last week, however I'm back and excited to find many new authors to look into!
This Week's Topic - New-To-Me Authors I Discovered in 2024
1. Lynette Noni
I've been gushing about The Prison Healer trilogy for months now, so it's no surprise that it's author Lynette Noni is on this list. You know when you're reading and suddenly you feel like this is the type of writing that feels like it was made for you? Well that's how Lynette Noni's writing felt to me. I can't wait to read more of her wonderful writing.
2. Jennifer Lynn Barnes
I finished The Inheritance Games after obsessively reading the series and I loved it. When I went to find out more about it's author I was shocked that Jennifer Lynn Barnes had written another popular series that's been on my TBR, The Naturals. So to say that I'm excited to read more of her writing is an understatement.
3. Hafsah Faizal
As a fantasy reader, I had only heard of Hafsah Faizal's We Hunt the Flame but I wasn't sure if I'd ever read it. Well that changed when my sister bought the duology. I liked the books a lot though the second, We Free the Stars, was my favourite. Hafsah Faizal's writing is so simple yet beautiful that I can't wait to read more.
4. L.M. Montgomery
Surprisingly, it's only been a few months since I read Anne of Green Gables, and I'm already calling it one of my favorite classics. I love the wonderful way L.M. Montgomery is able to bring her writing to life and her descriptions of the beauty of nature have left me eager to read the whole Anne series.
5. C.M. Francis
Catherine was the first author who requested a review from me, and honestly, I wasn't sure how I'd like her books since they were coming-of-age stories and I generally read fantasy and mystery. However, I was blown away by the depth of her writing, and how compelling her characters were. I can't wait to read more from her :)
6. Margaret Rogerson
I read Sorcery of Thorns last year and though I was feeling a little reading slump starting before I even started reading, this book changed all of that. Reading slump overcome, I was feverishly turning pages and now It's one of my favorite fantasy books. I can't wait to read her other book An Enchantment of Ravens.
7. Allison Saft
A Far Wilder Magic was the first book I reviewed on this blog and I loved it. I loved Allison Saft's writing style and her ability to weave complicated characters with flaws and strengths. It was a darker read than I was accustomed to but I can't wait to read more from her.
8. Agatha Christie
So, A new-to-me author for me but a well-known one for all of you. I read my first Agatha Christie book last year and it was great. I really want to read her Miss Marple series though, since that sounds amazing :)
Thanks for visiting! If you haven't read my review of The Night at Times Square by C.M. Franics yet, you can do so here :)

ReplyDeleteI am intrigued by A Far Wilder Magic.
ReplyDeleteI loved Hafsah Faizal's duology so much! They're such epic, fantastical and romantic stories (but I agree with you that the second book was my fave of the two). 😍 Sorcery of Thorns is also so amazing. I hope you discover more fantastic authors in 2025!
ReplyDeleteI only recently started reading Agatha Christie and I want to kick myself for waiting so long!

So many good authors, Anne of Green Gables is also one of my favorites, Anne and the Blue Castle are beautiful. I want to read Lynette Noni this year
ReplyDeleteGlad you finally found LM Montgomery. I love Anne of Green Gables.
ReplyDeleteI love Lynette Noni too! I definitely recommend checking out her other series - Whisper. It's such a unique and complex YA dystopian duology ♥
ReplyDeleteI've read a few books by Jennifer Lynn Barnes, including most of the Inheritance Games series. I've also read a handful by Agatha Christie. I'm planning to read more Christie this year. I'm glad you found some new authors to love in 2024!
ReplyDeleteHappy TTT!
In my opinion, you can't go wrong with any Agatha Christie book. I think my favorite Miss Marple book is Murder at the Vicarage.

LM Montgomery is one of my absolute favorite authors -- you have some real treats ahead with her books!
ReplyDeleteI read a lot of Agatha Christie as a teen and got kind of tired of her, but started reading her again a few years ago and really am enjoying her again. In fact, I'm reading a collection of her short stories called Midwinter Murder right now!
My TTT for this week is here, if you are curious.
Lots of new authors I need to add too my list to try! I have read Agatha Christie. She was one of my favorites when I was a teen and during my college years--so long ago now! I've been considering re-reading them. Jennifer Lynn Barnes is an author I have been wanting to try for awhile now. This is a great list. Thank you for sharing!
ReplyDeleteWe Hunt the Flame is amazing. One of my favorite duologies ever. I really want to pick up A Far Wilder Magic. It's on my shelf waiting for me. Hope you discover many more amazing writers in '25!
ReplyDeleteI remember disliking A Far Wilder Magic die to nauseatingly repetitive inner monologue, she made us wait to find out if the dog was ok because someone had to whine more first 😂😂 I think it's just me not dealing with YA fantasy anymore, I also yucked at their relations 😂 Ilove many on this list though! An enchantment of ravens is on the list for sure
ReplyDeleteYou've got so many great books on this list! I read a few and loved them, while there are more on my TBR. I really need to read The Prison Healer, it's been on my radar since before it even came out, and I shamefully haven't read it.
ReplyDeleteWelcome to The Booklore Fairy! I'd love to hear from you.
